Guitar Hero (wii) Tournament

Sign up starts @ 4pm  * Tournament starts @ 5:30pm

Tournament open to all ages * 1st 32 people to sign up

Entry fee: 5 cans of food or $5 *

                             (donated to local food bank)

Tournament Rules

Players will sign up no earlier than 4pm.  An entry form must be completely filled out and entry fee must be presented at sign up table to be considered a valid player.  After sign in is complete, you will be given a writst band  The wristband cannot be exchanged with another person and cannot be torn or repaired. Wristbands will be inspected at the start of each match. Each wristband will have a random number written on it. This will be your identification number.

Only songs approved by the tournament committee will be used during this Tournament. Songs will be based on length of time (under 4 minutes)

First Round:  32 players Medium Mode

  1. Contestants will compete head-to-head in Pro Face-off mode on Medium.
  2. Players will play against each other, best 2 out of three.
  3. The player with the highest number on their bracelet will choose first song
  4. The second player will choose the second song.
  5. Whoever has the higher score wins the song.
  6. In the event of a tie, the song will be determined by the referee by drawing a song from the "tie bucket"
  7. Whoever wins best two of hree will move on

Second Round: 16 players   Same as above - Medium Mode

Third Round: 8 players  Same as above - Hard Mode

Fourth and Final Round - Expert Mode

  1. Top 4 compete with each other on the Big Screen
  2. Players will draw for order of perfomance
  3. Winner will be determined in 2 parts : (1/2) Final Game Score  (1/2) Judges combined score

There will be 4 judges watching each performance.  Each judge will score  1-10 based on performance, originality and showmanship.  The judges score will be combined and will count towards 1/2 of your overall score.

Additional Rules of Conduct

  1. Poor Sportsmanship WILL NOT be tolerated! Do not yell, scream, curse, throw things, hit, kick, bite, fight, threaten other players, spectators or tournament committee members.
  2. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted at this event

If any conduct rules are violtated, you will be immediately disqualifed. Entry fee will not be refunded. Charges with the Sierra Vista Police Department may be filed.

  1. Filing down the ridge on the yellow fret button-allowed
  2. Fret button cardboard backing-allowed
  3. Rubber band tightened whammy bar - allowed
  4. Strum bar Velcro-allow
  5. Star Power button (no select button) NOT allowed
  6. Solo Buttons -NOT allowed
  7. Foot pedal star power mod - NOT allowed
  8. Playing with a pick - allowed
  9. Speed Mod-NOT allowed
  10. Can only pick a songe ONCE during play
  11. Pause - if hit once during competition, recive a warning, Twice-disqualified

Referees will be assigned to each station. A player may protest ONCE during the competition. Complaint will be reviewed by Tournament Director who will have the Final Word.
